A unique retreat nestled on a north-facing, steep sloping block overlooking a picturesque town and mountain views. The innovative hempcrete home has been well designed for sustainable living, longevity and functionality, amid supreme northern views and a serene environment.
The home was designed to embrace natural light and the vibrant town atmosphere. This modest-sized dwelling features two distinct living spaces separated by a tranquil garden entry walkway. One serves as the primary residence, while the other functions as a BnB, offering additional income potential. Both spaces are oriented towards the north, ensuring maximum sunlight and privacy.
The main living area is thoughtfully crafted with clerestory windows and a wedge-shaped design to optimise views and natural lighting. The deck off the main living space features clear sheeting to invite the warmth of the winter sun indoors, creating a cozy ambiance year-round.
With sustainability at the forefront, hempcrete was the chosen building material. Hempcrete walls provide exceptional thermal and acoustic insulation, and is a lightweight material that can be supported by an insulated timber floor and complemented by a heavily insulated roof. The north-sloping roof of the separate BnB pavilion is primed for future solar panel installation, further enhancing its energy efficiency.
Surrounding the home, lush edible gardens flourish, offering both beauty and sustenance. The Eumundi Hempcrete House seamlessly integrates sustainability, practicality, and aesthetic allure, where our clients can enjoy modern eco-living and the quaint charm of the town.
The beautiful BnB pavilion is currently listed as a Airbnb destination, which can be found here.
