Start with a conversation
Building or renovating your home is one of the biggest decisions you'll make, and if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed about where to begin, an initial consultation is the perfect place to start.
It's a two hour conversation with Brett, ideally on your site, where we get a real feel for your land and talk through your vision and your budget together. It's a genuinely useful step to take early in your research, obligation-free, and a great opportunity to dig into anything specific to your project or site that's been on your mind. You'll leave with more clarity on your project and what's possible, ready to make your next move with confidence.
For a small fee, we'll come to you. If your site is further afield, we're happy to talk through the best way to approach it, whether that's starting with a video call before travelling out, or heading straight to site if you're ready to dive in. We'll work out what makes sense for you.
Sustainable Design
At Ecolibrium, sustainable design is not an add-on or an afterthought. It is woven into every decision we make, from the orientation of a building to the materials specified and the systems that support daily life.
Our approach draws on established principles of sustainable design, including passive solar design, natural ventilation and thermal mass, creating buildings that work with their climate rather than against it. Every material we specify is thoughtfully considered for its impact before, during and after construction.

Property Planning
Sustainable property planning helps you enter into a long-term relationship with your land, where the property supports your needs while you actively contribute to the health and vitality of the surrounding environment.
Property planning is relevant to any sized block. Through holistic, whole-systems thinking, your land's unique potential can be discovered and nurtured, cultivating a living environment that sustains both you and the native habitat you share it with.
When building design and property planning are considered together, the result is a way of living that moves beyond simply minimising harm. The aim is for the built and natural environments to exist in genuine reciprocity, where each strengthens the other, and where water, energy and resources flow through the whole system with care and intention. This kind of integrated design allows your home and land to function as one connected, living system, reducing waste not as an end goal, but as a natural outcome of working with the land rather than on it.
Depending on your vision and the unique character of your site, property planning may draw on approaches such as permaculture design, revegetation and habitat restoration, renewable energy, and tree cultivation, each chosen to deepen the relationship between you, your home, and the living landscape around you.
Working With You
We offer a complete service from concept design through to construction documentation, built around a close working relationship with you at every stage. Once you decide to move ahead after your initial consultation, here's how the journey unfolds.
1. Preliminaries
We start with an in-depth briefing to fully understand your requirements, alongside council research, site analysis and a budget strategy to guide everything that follows. From there, we provide a design proposal with fees aligned to your construction budget, and clear, upfront indications of all costs so you can plan with confidence. For smaller or speculative projects, hourly rates are available.
2. Concept Design
Your ideas take shape as sketches and preliminary 3D models, so you can see and feel the design before a single wall is documented. We use sophisticated 3D modelling, rendering and virtual reality technology so you can fully visualise and experience the design before anything is built. We move forward only once you're genuinely satisfied it reflects your vision.
3. Design Development
Plans sharpen into detail. Materials, structure and systems are worked through, with consultants brought in where needed. We liaise directly with engineers, consultants, certifiers and council throughout, so you're not left coordinating it all yourself.
4. Construction Documentation
The Construction Documentation stage is the final step before building begins. This is where all detailed plans and specifications are finalised to guide the construction process.
Throughout the entire process, you are encouraged to be an active participant. We believe the best outcomes come from genuine collaboration, and we are committed to ensuring you feel informed, comfortable and confident at every step. Our services can also extend beyond documentation to include ongoing liaison with your builder and site inspections, ensuring the quality and finish of the final build meet the standard you expect.

Thinking of buying? We offer independent assessments of land and existing buildings, evaluating a property's potential to meet your needs and sustainability aspirations. Through desktop research and/or site visits, we identify opportunities, constraints and the realistic scope for design and development before you commit.Regenerative Design

This includes attending meetings, conducting periodic site inspections to assess the proj on your behalf, helping to resolve construction-related issues as they arise, and reviewing builder progress claims against work completed.Community Consultation
