Tanawha House

Winner, 2017 BDAQ Regional and State Awards

Winner of 2017 Building Designers Association of Queensland’s Regional (Sunshine Coast) and State Awards – ‘Residential Alterations/Additions – Houses $350,001 to $800,000 Construction Cost’

A confusing and run-down house has been transformed into an elegant and light-filled spacious home.  A minimalist inspired extension to the house gives balance to the once top-heavy building and a simple black and white colour scheme blends the old with the new timelessly.

The rainforest backdrop is reflected by the classically shaped pool up to the sweeping outdoor living portico where large stacking doors blur the outdoors with the interiors.

High level windows fill the living area with breezes and light.  Details of blackened timber and circles through the home give a wonderful continuity of design.

I want to send YOU a big thank you from the bottom of my heart for the new addition to our home! Your time and caring in bringing to life a fantastic design incorporating all Paul and my visions and designing our forever after home! You did a fantastic job utilising what we had and implementing in such clever, smart,  eye catching details and hero aspects a truly lovely home design…

Albeit I still have empty cupboards and haven’t knocked over the unpacking , though moving in all the furniture and our bits and pieces on the weekend , each room has come together so well. I have so many favourite , ‘my favourite thing is moments’ !! There is an element of each room that I love , love!!! We will when unpacked and settled down would love to invite you down…to toast a glass to this successful project. Again thank you Brett, you listened and interpreted what we would like and added your designs to that. We would always recommend you at the highest level to others who are wanting your professional services.
